Ice Breaker games

Its summer again and in companies its also time for company outing, most consider it as Team building. In this time, the human resource department are busy looking for a venue, planning activities and even sorting out things that they have to buy, bring and enjoy for the event. This year the main office chose to go to Island Cove in Kawit Cavite. I am sure they prepared a lot of group games for all of us to enjoy. Team building activities promote TEAM WORK, LEARNING, FUN, UNITY, FRIENDSHIPS, COHESION, SOCIAL STIMULATION. This is the same goal that the Human Resource Department has in mind. They have prepared a lot of very challenging ice breaker games for all of us to enjoy. The key to the success of games like this is that the participants should all be willing to cooperate. Usualyy its the case too, everybody goes along with the games prepared that is why it is always successful, everybody all have fun doing the activities. Everybody do what they are asked to do.

Prom Night

Our office is right accross Makati High School, we can actually hear their sound system everytime they have an event. Last Firday as I walked out of our office I saw flock of teeneagers wearing gowns and heals. I figured that must be thier prom dresses and prom shoes. Although thier prom dresses are not as glamorous as those we wore in our Prom night, they look really lady like. It is most apparent in this times on these kids social status. Prom dance for an exclusive school are being held in a five star hotel. The kids or teenagers are being made up in an expensive salon, from head to foot they are pampered. The prom dress and prom shoes, including accesories are from a good fashion designer or at least braned. Some even preprared months for it, choosing all the details, asking for Prom advice from Personality development gurus. Their jewelries are as expensive as their socialite moms.

When I first saw the teenagers whereing "cheap" gowns, the first instinct for me was to laugh. Thier gowns are awful, most of them are wearing the "santa cruzan" gown with all the ruffles and the fringes, sewn in cheap fabric. Thier shoes are of the same value, most likely bought from thrift shops. The guys are the same, although their clothes are on the safe side, I cannot critisize it that much, because their get-up are the norm in formal wear here. They are wearing long sleeves polo, black pants, leather shoes. What made me luagh is that 90 percent of the guys are wearing sun glasses, its already 6pm that time, needless to say the sun is down already. They are going to a Prom night, but a beach party. With this, you can really differentiate them with the fashion adept, more priviledge kids.

I am not saying all this to discrimate this kids, in fact on the contrary this made me open up my eyes on how different these kids lives from the "priviledge kids" who studies in an exclusive school, who lives in an exclusive village, who goes to exclusive parties. Yes, a lot of things are different between them, but one thing for sure. This kids wearing cheap gowns, had more fun than those bratty teenagers. Why? because they only get to experiece this kind of "classy party" once in their lifetime, they will surely treasure it, unlike those kids who get to party every weekend, driving their own car, swiping thier moms credits cards.
